La Grande Casa
Co-development of the PEPE digital tool for the management and monitoring of Personalised Educational Projects
Social economy Welfare and territorial development
PEPE is the first digital product resulting from the collaboration between Open Impact and La Grande Casa, a social cooperative with over 35 years of experience. The tool was developed to support educators and coordinators in the monitoring and management of Personalised Educational Plans (PEPE) within home education services aimed at minors and families. This project involved the participation of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, which contributed the pedagogical component, and the La Grande Casa research centre. PEPE integrates pedagogical expertise with Open Impact's expertise in social impact assessment and digitisation of services, offering an intuitive and flexible platform.
Available from May 2024, PEPE is accessible to social cooperatives, municipalities and public administrations that want to monitor the quality and effectiveness of educational services in a scientific and transparent way.

Methodological approach
Participatory co-development: the project saw the collaboration between La Grande Casa, Università Cattolica and Open Impact, who integrated pedagogical expertise and social impact assessment methodologies to develop a customised tool for monitoring Personalised Education Plans.
Digitalisation of the educational process: through a process of co-design and testing, PEPE was designed to manage the registry, monitor activities, evaluate objectives and present results graphically and interactively.
Social impact assessment: PEPE includes the SROI (Social Return on Investment) methodology, allowing the economic, social and financial impact of educational activities to be measured.
Findings
The project led to the realisation of PEPE, an innovative digital platform that simplifies the work of educators and improves the tracking and monitoring capacity of educators, coordinators and public administrations. By integrating impact assessment tools, PEPE enables the translation of results into intelligible information for different stakeholders, responding to the growing need to make social impact measurable. The tool combines ease of use and scientific rigour, making work in education services more efficient.
Main features:
Activity tracking and monitoring: real-time tracking and updating of information on educational projects.
Evaluation of objectives over time: monitoring and evaluation of the evolution of educational objectives through clear and shareable metrics.
Graphic communication: interactive dashboards presenting results in a clear and accessible manner, facilitating communication between educators, coordinators and PAs.
PEPE is addressed to:
Social cooperatives, which want to innovate tools and introduce impact assessment in educational services.
Public administrations, which need a scientific tool to monitor the effectiveness of home-based services and evaluate the results of the educational policies adopted.
